we went to equinox sometime ago. think it was 3rd dec. for my bro's 21st and i guess my 21st and 22nd. had preferred/wanted it to be a simple family affair, but views differed and it was the 6 of us.
lots of seafoood.
and so many types of cheese!!!
foie gras. possibly the first and last time i'll be tricked into eating it. no idea whats so nice bout it, just tasted like lots of fats to me (cue puking sensation).
beef is beef. done ever so nicely with the right skills.
i've always loved to be able to scoop and decorate my own ice cream. (:
overall food was pretty average. any hotel could have offerred similar fare. i guess what contributes to the price and hype would be the ambience and the scenery and of cos, the lvl of service. 
it should look better with night lights. and feel better with flickering candle lights.
